Our Society Changes

I will write about basically the changes of the society environment since I was a kid to now, because I live the 90’ period and the changes are REALLY BIGS and come on! I have only 21 years ._. I don’t want to think all the things that my parents or even my grandparents have seen in the last years.

First of all, the people were very nicer, now they are all suspicious and spiteful. Not many people were working full, with debs or without time. In the last year the society has lost the family environment of the past, the instances of a family lunch or dinner, the familiar television programs and all that. Now the father is in a hurry, the mother is talking with the mobile phone and the children are playing with their video games or pasted in the computer. Also the family education now is very precarious, insolent children, little girls get pregnant, domestic violence and all of that >.< The familiar life is lost and is making macro-level effects in the country

The education also is really poor! I think that with more technology available we have, more stupid we turn because we are looser and we don’t make the things by ourselves. Before we don’t have mobiles, computers, “super machines” and that. And the educational system is creating loose people. I don’t blame technology, is a very good tool for different things, but we have overused them! And that’s bad. Also the schools environment now is full of bullying, fat food and bad education. The child of now are not even the shadow of the ones of the 80’ or the 90’, they are very vulnerable to all the world changes and advances that I could be very dangerous if the parents don’t have the correct control of them.

Our society is decreasing in a so fast speed that in just 10 years we are full of bad references and poor environments, the reggaton music really kills neurons and the “flaites” are EVEN more flaites than 5 years before… I really prefer the old times with “sound” music instead of reggaton, parties with “slows” (lentos) and of course the magic of be a child and no a grown up in a little body.

Challenges in Veterinary Medicine

Veterinary Medicine is a very wide career with tons of different activities on the work world, from teaching to animal production or even the conservation of wild species. In this point of view, the career could be of interest of many people and plus of many universities teach it (with seriously different difficulties between them) made the actual saturation of doctors in the work world, with many unemployed people and very low paid. This is think is the first big challenge of our disciple, because the teaching and the practice of veterinary medicine, I think, should be regulated and certificated and not to be see like the “little brother” of human medicine (of little don’t have nothing) There are many of faculties (most of them of private universities) imparting the career with a very poor curriculum and with no work future for their students. Maybe I could be a good idea to close a few of them and leave only the best ones and make a strong system of certification, also making more easy the changes with international students, foreign scholarships and access to magisters and PhDs .

Medicine is a science disciple so it’s very attached to technological advances and discovers, so I see that the technology challenge is the second of the list. Searching new medicines and new medical practices could improve, not only the impact to the patients, also the teaching and the future comprehension of old things. Unfortunately these advances are very slow and expensive, but the gains of them are crucial in the understanding and in the improvement of the career.

Anyway there is a lot of work to do for our career not only for us right now, but for the future generations that will study this discipline because we must conserve the privilege and the lucky of study the most beautiful (but difficult) career of all.

Education in Chile

The education in Chile I think that is THE biggest problem of the country because education is the main pillar of a good society, the only way to guarantee a future and a social advance is with this!

It’s ridiculous that the state spends 500.000 pesos in a prisoner and no more of 25.000 pesos in a scholar grant, come on!! It’s a little stupid!

The educational program is also a very very poor program! It must be remade watching to other good programs of other countries.

Also the Universities must be restarted, privileging of course the states one because the private ones can afford they own needs alone, but for both I think there must be a new system of selection and a “universal” base of knowledge (that state and private ones must have the same educational level)

In all of this the state role is fundamental because

they must ensure the future of the country, new laws and reforms for scholar and university education must be raised and also a promotion in t

he families, because is in there were the first steps of education of everyone starts.

Summary of a New

Cloned farming claims under investigation

Claims of a cloned farming in the UK are being investigated, the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) said.

This starts because the Daily Mail reported that a calf of a cloned mother had been born in a unnamed farm in the Midland last December 2nd . The problem is that de Defra, which gathers information about cloned embryos from breed societies, didn’t knew about this calf’s existence

A spokeswoman said: "Any cloned embryo that enters the country will be identified in the consignment's accompanying pedigree documentation. The documents will be checked and noted by the official veterinarian at the board of entry point and will subsequently be recorded with the relevant breed society."

Cloned farming methods can create cows with better milk production, with 70 liters of milk a day, 30% to 40% more that “normal bred” cows, but the methods prompted alarm at possible dangers of what some call “Frankenstein farming”

This because this could result in milk and meat of these animals being sold in a unregulated way to the consumers

Dundee Paradise, the new calf, was born after the British farm bought frozen embryos from a cow that had been cloned by the US biotech firm Cyagra Clone, created using cells from the ear of a champion Holstein dairy cow

In the US where around 150 cloned dairy cows and 200 clones pigs created, principally used for breeding bigger, more productive livestock and high cost embryos. But the problem is that cloned offspring tend to die young and the area needs more research. According to a Poll, around two-thirds of the US public had concerns about eating food for a cloned livestock

Also new calves from other embryos, carried with Dundee Paradise, were expected to be born in the next few weeks, it was reported.

Late last month, the FDA declared food from cloned livestock to be safe for human consumption, but said the government needed time to assess public opinion on whether to allow sales of such products without special labelling.

Dolly the sheep, the world's first mammal clone, was born on a British farm in 1997; she died young in 2003 from a lung disease.

IMPROVING YOUR FACULTY FACILITIES

Improving my Faculty

The topic of today is analyzing the status of the Veterinarian Faculty and what things of it I would change about…

I think that the faculty has lots of good thing but also really bad things, first the infrastructure of it is really good, have tons of green areas and is quite safe, against for example, earthquakes. The qualities of the rooms are good and comfortable and lie in the grass during the time “windows” is nice. The bad things are basically the ubication, Santa Rosa is a very unsafe place especially for students! The casino is really bad and expensive and we don’t have a BIP! Charging totem in this insolate place….

The things I would improve are the Library, with more books, better equipment and personal (nicer please) also the Study Secretary, because they always give wrong or confuse information, maybe more personal would be better. Making more classrooms could be also a good idea but if is only attached with contract more teachers

I think that all the curriculum must be replanted and make some serious changes about the number or years of the career and the subjects, also giving us time to take electives, not only here, but also in other faculties (Like in the FAU that have Bow Practice *o*)

Anyway, I really love the faculty and the university, but is a real fact that it could be better with a better organization and maybe listening to what the students really want and not only what the market or the teachers says.

A COUNTRY I WOULD LIKE TO VISIT

The topic of today's blog is about a country I would like to visit.... and the answer to me is instant:

~ Japan is All ~

Why I want to go? Because they are an amazing culture, that combines ancient traditions and technological improves. It's a very orderly country were the respect to the other is the pilar of they society.
Also they are the kings in technology! you will find ALL the last gadgets there. I'm very fan of videogames and japanise pop music (j-pop)Japan is the first country where new games are launched and only there are the cds and dvds of my favourites japan singers and bands (if I had a credit card I would buy them online, but I don't have one and the shipping takes a lot)

I know very little about the history of the country (...oh wait I also don't know much about my own contry... so.. xD) But they are the only nation that have been atacked with a nuclear bomb on the human history (Hiroshima and Nagasaki) but they raised up and now are one of the economical powers of the world! They are an example to follow in every line! And now with the earthquake of March they will demostrate us again how amazing they are.

If I go to Japan I really want to travel over all the country! Going shopping in Tokyo would be awesome! Buy videogames, music, come tech things! Travel on the super speed train to other regions like Osaka, Kyoto or Hiroshima. Taste the original japanise food like rice cakes, octopus rolls, ramen soup and all the thing we watch in the animes xD Also go to a music concert and to the Pokemon Center!! (Shop with only pokemon merchandise)I REALLY CAN'T WAIT TO THAT MOMENT!!!

To think about going to study, work or live there I personally think that I should travel there firts like a tourits. Because the "day dreaming" is a thing and reality can be or not like that dream.
If I like Japan ofcourse I'll like to try to do something there, maybe a master or a PhD and if the things are good enought think in stay there permanently (If the Earthquakes or the volcanos don't destroy the island fisrt T-T)
But the start of this plan, must be learning japanise...

TRANSANTIAGO >> BEFORE AND AFTER

The topic of today blog is about the Transantiago, the mobilization public system of the Big Santiago city.

The system starts fully operational form early 2007 full of new “hopes” and trying to innovate in compare of the previous system of the famous Yellow buses.

I think that this system have only 2 good things, the first is that the drivers no manage money on road and that the buses are quite better than the old ones, now the problems are that the city roads are not fit for this buses and that is the reason of why all of them are in a very bad condition. The other one is that the people don’t pay. The administration system of the yellow buses was also (I think) better than the current one, because it didn’t have the present “negative balance”, fault of the BIP! Card and the people that don’t pay, but here is the little problem, the BIP! Card allows to the bus drivers to not have money on the bus, but the people don’t pay the tariff, but before, the drivers had money and they were target of thieves but the people that don’t paid, practically couldn't board. This is basically a culture problem, maybe in Europe, the people wouldn’t do it.

I didn’t used the system until I went to the university and I have the holy luck that the bus that passes in front of my apartment leaves me in the front of the faculty. So I can’t describe the evolution of the system view of my perspective because I’m a new user (of the buses, because I use a lot of Subway) Anyway, the only change that I have notice are some new tours.

I think that some changes that I could apply are to trying finish the avoid of pay, because is the main problem. How? I don’t know, maybe with police on board 24/7 or changing the BIP! Card for other thing. But it’s a cultural problem, so it’s gonna be very difficult eliminate it

My Pets: Aura ~ Love is All~

The blog of today, it's about our pets......
We are Veterinary students so it's logical to us to have TONS of pets is our homes, but this is not my case :B I live in a apartment, I don't have garden! I can't have to much animals there, but just with my dog, my house is really full of joy and funny!

I really like dogs (more than cats .. iug :s) but I love a specific breed more than any one! The West Highland White terrier is actually the type of dog that change my life. I meet with this breed because a friend of mine bought a little puppy and I loved it! So I decided to try to buy one

In 2009 my dog came to my life, baptized with the name of Aura (thanks to my mother) she arrived to my home during July with only 2 months of life! She was so cute *-*
She is really a bright light in my house, always playing, running around and sleeping in the most hidden places of de living room.

She is really smart and acrobat, jumping to the sofa or to the beds like a cat xD. Makes a special "welcoming ceremony" for each person in my house. For example to my dad, she
requires petting in her back while is standing with her two legs. To me, stay in the place where she is, puts her ears back and moves the tail, when I approach to her, she jumps and starts licking my face :3

Actually Aura has 2 years, she is very big! but it's still my baby puppy! She is not a pet, she is officially the most important member of my crazy family
I hope in the future, raise and breed this race, because I really want to give to other people, the magical moments that Aura has given to me.

We Are Back! :D! 2011 New Session

So...here is my blog back, for the Intermediate English class during this 2011 first semester!
The topic of today blog is:

The 2010 Experience!

What a horrible year! seriously! It was all that necesary!? We started the last year with the earthquake of February 27th that made me escape for my father's apartment to my mom's house for one month! I was really in shock after that, but at least was a new experience of traumatizing horror for my life :D!
Because of this, we went back to the university like 2 weeks later of the original date and that made a very very compress calendar for the year.

The first semester was...... HELL! Do the subjects that I failed during the 2009 again was really annoying, like Zoology and Math. Biochemestry?? I really enjoyed it! because I finally could understand and say to myself "This is easy! What in the world happened to you that you didn't understand it!!!"
The other subjects of the formal second year of career were Epidemiology and Animal Behaviour and of course Anatomy that I epic FAILED it just with the first test.
The winter vacations.... ONLY ONE WEEK!?!?! WHAT?!? yes! one week for "relaxing" and batery recharging... no more comments for it -.-!!!
The second semester was... a lillte more academically strong, but better than the 1st! I DIDN'T FAILED ANY SUBJECT! and that was enough for me!

I have to thank that for a new year I have all my family and my friends with me and that's really important. Because without them xD the ~ Horror 2010 Year ~ could have been the worst year in Feño's History!

So we start this 2011 with new energy and more desire! and I hope that will be better than the last one! :D
